The London Irish Construction Network
Parliamentary Reception: 1st May 2024
Our thanks went to Karin Smyth, Labour MP for Bristol South, for once again kindly sponsoring this very special event.
Elected to Parliament in May 2015, Karin served as Chair of the Ireland and Irish in Britain APPG, which celebrates the Irish community in Britain and the close ties between Ireland and the UK. Born in London to Irish parents who moved to Britain in the 1950s, she settled in Bristol in the 1990s, where she lives with her husband and three sons.
Karin graduated from the University of East Anglia in 1988 with a degree in Economics and Social Studies before completing an MBA at the University of Bath in 1995. Before becoming an MP, she worked as an NHS manager, ran an MP’s office, and served as a non-Executive Director of an NHS Trust.
Check out Malcolm McNally's fantastic photos from the evening.
